Postgraduate Interns

Graduates and practicing acupuncturists are welcome to enrol for further education at The Acupuncture Hospital. The central theme of practicing at The Acupuncture Hospital is that practitioners have completed, or are completing, the SSOMA course.

The SSOMA course is based predominantly around channel palpation and Dr Dan Keown’s books - The Spark in the Machine and The Uncharted Body. The course allows practitioners to have a shared language and understanding of how acupuncture works. This means that practitioners can easily exchange tips and help each other. As well as this patients have a uniformity of treatment that helps advance acupuncture, and specifically The Acupuncture Hospital and Associates, in the community.

Details of the SSOMA course can be found on this page. As a postgraduate there is less emphasis on coursework and more on practical experience. For this reason postgraduates receive a 50% discount on the course fee of £8800 and instead is £4400.

For this postgraduates receive:

• Hardback and softback copies of The Uncharted Body.

• Lifetime access to the online course.

• SSOMA Course-book.

• Guaranteed minimum of four clinical sessions per month for one year at The Acupuncture Hospital. These occur currently on Tuesday and Fridays but can be any day when student clinics held in the future. Interns are encouraged to come as often as they like.

• SSOMA Diploma in Acupuncture on successfully passing the end of year exam.

• Successful completion of the SSOMA Diploma allows you to become an Associate of The Acupuncture Hospital.
